About

The name of my blog reflects what I am doing by making it. Showing my colours.

There is a certain vulnerability in exposing your true self. That is, your feelings, beliefs, perceptions. Stuff that can’t be seen on the surface and that can only be accessed by you if you chose to explore it. In this there is a risk of criticism, of disapproval.

Publishing my poetry leaves me nowhere to hide. Kind of like on The Voice where they say that the singer has no dance moves or fancy attire to hide behind. It’s just them standing in front of the audience using their voice.

So this is me. Stepping out of the comfort and security of my life. A sort of metamorphosis.

I encourage others to show their colours too.

  1. I can’t begin to thank you enough for stopping over and following my humble blog-o-thing! I wish you the very best, not only today but well into the future. Be inspired and please take care.

    1. Hi! Sorry I think I’m about 4 months too late to reply to this. But I just stumbled across it and realised that I never thanked you! I appreciate your support. And no worries for stopping by your ‘humble blog-o-thing’ (is that a term you made up?). Cheers!

    1. Thanks Darren! I appreciate your support. How are you going? I’m sorry I never made it to that market. I changed my plans and it never ended up happening. Are you still involved in the Lorne Film thing?

  2. You have a wonderful gift girl. God bless you. It is truly awesome that you have the courage and boldness to be who God created you to be. We are His masterpiece, all truly unique. Keep up the good work and always remember that all battles are won on bended knee. Be blessed, and by the way my name is Michael.

    1. Hi Michael! My name is Emily (not sure if you have figured that out yet). I did read your name in one of your comments on your page.
I appreciate your endless compliments. I have no more left to say because I feel that I’ve overused the word ‘thank-you’. So instead I’ll tell you that I’m grateful. I appreciate your support!

      1. Emily, obviously I have seen your picture and that name fits you quite well. You are quite welcome for the compliments, “you get what you give”, is the way I see it. So I hope you have room for one more. Emily, you have a beautiful smile girl, I know you light up the room. Also, I am thankful that you are grateful. You do have a wonderful gift, I have read quite a bit of it and it’s truly unique and so heart warming. I could keep reading and reading. You are quite welcome for the support and thank you as well. May the Lord’s blessings continue to rain upon you as you serve Him. I say this because many serve the Lord and don’t even know it. It’s just a great experience, and I am glad we connected. God bless you. Have a wonderful day.

      2. Haha of course I have room for one more! Can’t say no to a compliment. I’m glad you like reading what I write. It makes me happy to know that I can create satisfaction for people like yourself just by writing (which creates satisfaction for me). And about the smile – thank you! I hope I make others smile by smiling. That would be a gift!
Thank you for blessing me with your support/compliments/whatever-else-you-would-like-to-call-it. I’m also glad we connected. Have a nice day πŸ™‚

      3. Blessings Emily, I’m glad you have room for one more for I have many in store for you. Indeed, your smile is a gift. I haven’t experienced anything quite like it, it’s in line with your heart if you will. Oh yeah, where are you based from, I forgot to ask you that in the other message. You bring satisfaction to my heart with your words. God bless you and have a wonderful day girl.
